Setting Your E911 Emergency Address (Required for Wi-Fi Calling)

Modified on Sun, 19 Apr at 12:33 AM

When you call 911 from a regular cell tower, your location is sent to the dispatcher automatically by the cellular network. When you call 911 over Wi-Fi Calling, the network can't see where you are — so you have to tell us in advance.

That's what your E911 address is for. It's the address that gets sent to emergency services if you call 911 over Wi-Fi.

Why It Matters

  • Wi-Fi Calling won't activate on your line until you've set an E911 address. This is a regulatory requirement, not a Parrot Mobile choice.

  • If you ever travel with Wi-Fi Calling on, dispatchers may receive your registered address rather than your current one. Update it whenever you move or stay somewhere new long enough that you'd want emergency services to reach that location.

Set or Update Your E911 Address

You set the E911 address per line, since each phone may live in a different place.

  1. Sign in at https://www.parrotmobile.com/app.

  2. Open the line you want to update.

  3. Go to the Settings tab.

  4. Find the E911 Emergency Address section.

  5. Enter your full street address: street, city, state, ZIP. Use a real, deliverable address — not a P.O. Box.

  6. Click Save.

Once saved, Wi-Fi Calling can be enabled on the device. See Using WiFi Calling with Parrot Mobile for the device steps.

Common Questions

Can I use a P.O. Box?

No. Emergency dispatchers need a physical address that responders can drive to.

Do I have to update it when I travel?

For short trips, no — most people leave their primary home address on file. For longer stays where you'll rely on Wi-Fi Calling, update it to the address where you're staying.

What if I forget?

If you call 911 over Wi-Fi without an updated address, dispatchers may be sent to your old address. Always tell the 911 operator your actual location verbally as soon as the call connects, regardless of what address is on file.

Does this affect calls made over the cellular network?

No. When you call 911 over a cell tower, the network handles location. The E911 address only applies to calls made over Wi-Fi Calling.

If you have trouble saving an address (for example, an apartment number that won't validate), email us at support@parrotmobile.com with the line and the address you're trying to use.
