Why Is My Line Suspended?

Modified on Wed, 23 Sep at 12:37 AM

A suspended line almost always means a bill wasn't paid. Pay the open bill from the line's Overview (the Pay $X button) or at parrotmobile.com/pay-bill, and service comes back within minutes. If the line isn't past due, it may be on an account hold, scheduled to end, or the problem may be the phone itself.

Check your line's status

  1. Sign in at app.parrotmobile.com and pick the line from the line switcher at the top.
  2. Look at the top card on the line's Overview:
    • You owe $X: a bill is past due. Pay it now to avoid suspension.
    • Service suspended: the line is paused. Calls, texts, and data don't work, but your number is kept.
    • Service ending: the line was cancelled and will stop at the end of the billing period.
    • Your line is active: the line is fine on our side. See "Line is active but the phone has no service" below.

Unpaid bill (most common)

If a renewal payment fails and isn't paid after our retries, the line is suspended. To restore it:

  1. On the line's Overview, click Pay $X. You can also pay from the Billing tab or, without signing in, at parrotmobile.com/pay-bill.
  2. If the card keeps failing, pick or add a different card.
  3. Service resumes within a few minutes. If you still have no signal after 15 minutes, restart your phone.

Don't wait too long

If a suspended line stays unpaid for 29 days, it is disconnected and the phone number is released. It usually can't be recovered. We email a final notice 4 days before.

Full details, including why cards get declined, are in Failed Payments, Past Due Lines, and Reactivating.

Account hold

Occasionally a line is paused for an account review. If your line shows Service suspended and has no unpaid bill, email support@parrotmobile.com from your account email with the phone number. Our team will review it and let you know the next step.

Cancelled line

A cancelled line keeps working until the end of its billing period, then stops for good.

  • Before the end date: go to More > Line settings > Cancel service and click Keep my service, or click it on the line's Overview.
  • After the end date: the number is disconnected and may be given to someone else. You can start a new line with Add a line from the line switcher.

See Cancelling a Line or Closing Your Account.

Line is active but the phone has no service

If your account shows Your line is active but the phone says No Service or SOS, the issue is usually the phone or SIM:

  • Restart the phone, then toggle Airplane Mode on and off.
  • Make sure the Parrot Mobile SIM or eSIM line is turned on in the phone's settings.
  • Check the phone is unlocked and compatible, using the IMEI check on our Bring Your Own Phone page. A phone reported lost or stolen won't connect to the network.

Step-by-step fixes are in Fixing "No Service" or "SOS Only" on Your Phone.
